This Inner Journey of Connection, Charge, and Release

Emotional Cords: How I Understand Them

I am human; I have been upset. I have felt anger, and I know that I have formed emotional cords—connections to other people and to situations. These cords can bring inner strength or inner struggle. I often reflect on my inner conversations, so I don’t give unnecessary power to them by speaking them out loud. Sometimes words (crazy hurtful words) still fall out of my mouth — I’m human; it happens. I can get angry or frustrated, but my wisdom reminds me that I can allow those emotions to dissolve and choose to speak emotional life into my circumstances. For me, one path feels heavy; the other feels liberating.

Because of this, I remove myself from gossip, complaining, guilt, resentment — anything that doesn’t serve my SELF, my Soul, Evolving life Force.

Why Venting Creates Emotional Charge

Venting is one of the ways people try to release emotional stress and tension, but it often reinforces the emotional charge instead of dissolving it. Venting can wrap you deeper into victimhood, like a wet coat in the middle of an ice storm. Because repeating the negative story strengthens the emotion and takes away their power to move forward or above a situation.

As a holistic self-love coach, I know I can listen and empathize, but I cannot allow someone else’s way of releasing stress to attach itself to me. I believe in emotional cords. I believe our vocal cords connect us to others in a spiritual way; these are emotional cords, invisible to the eyes, but the body feels the connection and the pull. What we speak carries energy, and that energy can bind us if we’re not intentional.

Why I Teach Emotional Cord Cutting (Not People Cutting)

A lot of people teach cord cutting as if we’re meant to sever people from our lives. I don’t teach that. I teach emotional cord cutting — because I don’t believe we cut off people. Souls are here for a reason; they become our mirror of success or failure. They help us evolve, spiraling up or down.

But emotionally, we don’t need to carry an energetic emotional charge when we see or think of them.

Think of a stranger: you have no emotional connection to them. It’s only when you exchange interactions — eye contact, touch, words — that you begin forming a positive or negative emotional cord. Over time, that cord can dissolve naturally, or you can unknowingly strengthen it by repeating the same emotional pattern in your mind. When that happens, you give away your inner power and start manifesting from that emotional charge without realizing it.

The truth is, we are going to bond emotionally; we are designed that way; it’s human DNA evolution. However, when we become self-aware, we can choose where we put our creative emotional energy. We have the will and the freedom to speak over ourselves and others, to reframe thoughts, and to imagine the best for ourselves and the world at large; that realization will bring about an unconditional love explosion.
